Research: Opening Credits - Mrs. Quinlan

What are opening credits?
Opening credits are written information that is presented to the audience on who is the producer the director and a variety of other roles, which are doe as well. The reason why there are opening credit is to help the audience to know who is in the film who helped, so instead of them researching they provide it with an opening credit for them. It is very creative when it combines with thriller films as it gives a bit of fear towards the audience when there are sounds with no words added to it except from the text that has been given.

The chronological order for the importance of film and thriller are first the studio name, which are Production Company (e.g. Disney), Producers, Directors, Main Characters, Film Titles, and then it will carry on with Edited by, Written by Music by, so basically the maker of the script.

Within the opening credits it helps the audience to understand the content of the film as in who are the people that has made an effort in the film that has been produced what theme it is and a mixture of information, which gives them a bit of an idea on what the film might be about with looking at the theme as well. They give the audience an amount of starter information so they can create information about the film. On how ever they give the opening credit they would create ideas about the film which create a lot of tension about. So the sound the picture are very important on how they have set and give as a opening credit, this is very important because it helps the audience to have an idea of  what the film is going to be about. As a lot of thriller openings have the same type of opening credit where they create a lot of tension within the audiences reaction.

1 comment:

  1. There is a basic understanding of the purpose of opening credits and the information they provide. There is a limited range of film examples and limited engagement with the audience's reaction.

    - Include sub-headings throughout your post.
    - Bullet point the order of appearance credits, and also include the alternative opening credits sequence, with screen shot examples.
    - Your audience reaction section needs to be much clearer and should be linked to some thriller film examples.
    - Include a thriller opening credits sequence and analyse.
    - Include your conclusion about the benefits of this post and the opening credits you will be including in your thriller opening.
